Today I’m sharing 10 great ways to transform your food into delicious medicine for your blood type. This is key for keeping your health and especially your nutrition in balance and build healthier habits.
1. Grind up flaxseeds for daily Fibre and Omega 3
Flaxseeds are also know as Linseed’s, the small brown shiny seeds from the linen plant.
They are not expensive to buy at the health shop but it is only the inner part that contains the essential fatty acids. Merely soaking seed in water and swallowing them will only release the mucilage that surrounds them. For a better cure for constipation, invest in an electric coffee grinder and make yourself some flax meal. Keep it in the fridge and have a few teaspoons on cereals, salads and vegetable dishes. Grind up other seeds and nuts with flaxseeds for a tasty blend.

These delicious home bakes are easy to adapt to all blood types and contain so many beneficial nutrients that you can use them to replace meals – even breakfast cereals when you are in a hurry. Save money and be sure to give your family breakfast ingredients that suit their blood types. All can enjoy oats except O2 or those with a severe gluten allergy. Bake a mixture of oats, a little olive or coconut oil, sweetener or honey and other ingredients like soy flour or mince (not O2 or B2 Blood types) or barley flakes (not for O Blood types). Use the same oven as for roasting or baking at a medium-low temperature or leave in a switched off oven overnight. Mix in a lot of ground flaxseeds and your choice of seeds, nuts, and chopped dried fruit. For breakfast, moisten with boiling water then add a tiny splash of almond or coconut milk and sweeten.

Don’t fall for the junk food trade and undo your healthy blood type diet. Always take suitable food with you as junk food will never suit your blood type. Bye rye bread or rice cakes and do your own health baking to make sure that the ingredients have your approval. Load up everybody with fruit and salads to their liking. Make nut butter and savory dips to go with them. Soup can be taken in a flask or heated up at work. Keep a stash of dried fruit and nuts as well as juice or water in the car to control blood sugar blues and dehydration. Never skip meals when you are stressed. Your body needs daily nutrition.

Coffee does not suit all of us and certainly not more than two cups a day. Cocoa has only 10% of the caffeine which is lower than Chinese green tea or Oolong tea! Don’t forget about plain old water and rooibos tea, but make them more interesting and therapeutic by adding lemon juice, etc. Cut out the soft drinks, especially if you have a blood sugar problem, as there are up to 8 teaspoons of sugar in a 350ml can. Try to avoid aspartame and synthetic additives in drinks.
6. Have to go at growing your own grass
Wheat and barley grass supplements are expensive and they claim to cure many ailments. Spend a few cents on some wheat and barley grains at the health shop and unleash the natural phytochemicals like fresh enzymes, chlorophyll and trace elements into your own power juices. Each pot of grass will grow again to the same height after cutting. It is advisable to not eat the fiber as it can be harmful. Products made from only the juice are better for you. Alfalfa and flax shoot can also be used. Cut off their tops once they are big enough.
7. Make fresh juices and your own herbal tinctures
Fresh juice is the ultimate energy drink. No supplement can equal the natural nutrients and phytochemicals that fresh juice has to offer, because these enzymes are alive. Buying a simple electric blender is all you need. These juices can also be made with fresh or dried herbs. Powered spices like fenugreek, cinnamon, ginger, etc can also be used.
8. Grow your own sprouts and eat loads of them
Lentil sprouts are suitable for all blood types because sprouting destroys the starch-bound lectin that is harmful to blood type B and O1. A tablespoon of sprouts made from cheap soup lentils have all the vitamins and minerals the average person needs for the day. When you add potassium chloride or cream of tartar to your salt, the balance restored. Rev up the mixtures by grinding up dried herbs, spices and seeds with a little sea salt. Black pepper does not suit all blood types and 98% of the population cannot digest it. It can cause intestinal cramps, gas, bloating and abdominal pains.
