Summers right around the corner and for many of us, we’re lagging behind on our summer bodies. Don’t you worry though, you’ve got time! Not a lot of time don’t get me wrong, but if you take the tips I give you, I guaranteed you’ll push past any plateaus you’re currently experiencing. Make sure to write these down, store them in your phone, or whatever else you have to do to implement them into your daily routine. They are all listed as #1 because imo, they’re all equally important.
1. Lack of sleep!
Sleep is often overlooked! Besides eating, sleep is essentially the most important factor when it comes to growing muscle and keeping fat away. A common myth is you gain muscle when you workout even though the truth is, muscle is gained while you sleep! This is when your body repairs its muscle tissue and the “gains” come. Get at least 6 to 8 hours of sleep to keep your body performing at its peak state.
2. You’re not eating enough!
The common mistake these days is undereating. As crazy as it sounds, you won’t lose weight eating less. I can’t stress this enough! Long story short and to keep it simple (simple is better), your body will go into what’s called “starvation mode”. Starvation mode is misleading but in short just means your body restricts the number of calories it burns to stop you from losing weight which results in less total calories burned throughout the day. Make sure your body is fed and keep it in a metabolic state by pairing healthy eating with a tailored workout plan for your body type.
3. Not having a clear goal & plan!
How do you expect to grow or lose weight if you don’t have a defined goal you want to achieve. Anyone can say they want to lose weight right? Well, how would you feel if you lost 1 lb in a month? See my point? Everyone needs clear goals before they even step foot in a gym. Ever heard the saying “a goal without a plan is just a wish”? It’s completely true! I see people in the gym day in and day out without a plan, then find themselves wondering why they’re getting burnt out so easy and not seeing results. Bottom line is, have a clear goal and actionable steps to get there. It will be so much more beneficial to you and a lot easier in the end.
Now that you have these 3 tips to keep you going, the only thing stopping you now is yourself! If you have trouble keeping accountable or even pushing yourself hard enough, send me a message and let’s see what we can do to get your fitness journey kick started!
