Be selfish with your fitness.
Okay, we are starting off our very first post on the website with an interesting topic. For me, I’ve noticed that I get motivated easily by knowing what results I can achieve if I work hard for it. So with that, I like to come up with my own reasons to working out and eating healthy so that I don’t fall off. Benefits to being fit go beyond just looking good—they impact your confidence, energy levels, and even mental health.
We’re starting off with #1:
You look better and your confidence goes up.
This is probably one of the best surface-level benefits out there. But I see this most commonly with people who have… just recently broken up. LOL. Working out and eating healthy can have you burning off body fat while building muscle. You start to look good as you become more consistent with your routine.
You have a lot more energy to do things.
Literally, as you get more fit, you feel like a younger, more vibrant version of yourself. Suddenly you take the hard way with the stairs. You suddenly want to park further from stores just so you can walk more steps because you don’t mind it. You are a lot more active so you will notice a gradual energy increase to do physical things.
It’s good for your mental health.
As you workout, you are intentionally putting yourself in a tough situation. You are literally using your muscles to push hard against a force so to let your body know that you want it to get stronger. There are a lot of great mental health benefits to being fit. Working out literally releases the “feel good” hormones from your brain.
And those are three selfish benefits to working out.
The best time is now, so get working!
