Are you a busy mom? Are you struggling to find the time to workout during the day? Not enough hours in the day, right? Today is a new day!
Exercise is just as important for your mental health, as it is your physical health. The kids are crawling all over things, getting into kitchen cabinets or pantries. You’re so busy chasing them it feels like a workout.
Tip 1: Schedule your Exercise Session
Is there a specific time of day that works best for you? Do you lay them down for their afternoon nap at 3 o’clock? Get in what you can while they are taking a nap, or hit a quick 20-30 minute workout when they go to bed. The key here is to schedule the workout. Specific time every day, and do your best to set it in stone. Make it a habit.
Tip 2: Get up and move throughout the day
Do 10 squats here, 30-second plank there, grab some weights and do some bicep curls randomly throughout the day. Movement enhances blood flow which increases energy, and better brain functioning throughout the day.
Tip 3: Let the kids join in!
Take them for a walk mid-day, have them hold planks with you. Exercising with your kids is setting a great example for them, and their future habits. Make it fun, and do your best to keep them engaged. How many times a day do you bend over to pick them up, carry them, or some other form of physical activity that requires them? Deadlifts, loaded carries, bent over rows, maybe even squats could all be implemented in a safe manner.
I challenge you to implement these tips in your everyday life with your children to help them, and you live a better, healthier, and more fulfilling lifestyle.
