Lifestyle Lifestyle Mistakes You Need to Stop Making!

You’ve been busy busting your hump for the last 3 months, yet you aren’t really seeing your body change. You’re frustrated! You wonder what you’re doing wrong or what you need to change to get your body looking good again or even for the first time. Over the years of personal training, I have seen it all. Very seldom do people and clients put it all together on their own.

Let me save you some serious time and share with you the top 5 lifestyle mistakes I see over and over again starting with the #1 failure:

#1 Mistake

nutrition mistakesYour nutrition is a mess! You have too many bad habits that prevent you from making any serious transformation. Primarily you consume too many processed foods and too much sugar regularly and it gets converted into fat. You can’t change all these habits overnight, otherwise you will be juggling too many changes at once. You have to break it down a step at a time without overwhelm. Learning the basics of educational nutrition will serve you for a lifetime. Master nutrition and you will master your body. Most people not getting transformations and results struggle with their nutrition big time. Nutrition Coaching

#2 Mistake

You strength training is not comprehensive or effective! You have to implement the correct workload (stimulus), rest periods, nutritional intake, and proper form under load to make significantstrength training mistake gains even if you’re just wanting to lean out. Most people don’t train hard enough, some train too hard, and yet others spend too much time (duration) in their training. It’s all about training smarter not necessarily harder, but you must make your body adapt to a new stimulus. You have to apply periodization models which will build your metabolism and have you burning fat 24/7. There is a distinct difference between fat burning and muscle building. What is your desired result?

#3 Mistake

cardio mistakeYou waste valuable time and energy doing steady state cardio! Long, boring cardio is not an effective strategy if you want amazing transformations and serious results. You body doesn’t have to adapt if you continually do the same thing over and over again, right? There is NO challenge there.  You can effectively cross train cardio just like you can effectively cross train strength training. Keep it fresh and ask your body to adapt to “new” stimulus. Have you ever attempted to jump rope for 10 minutes or use a rower for 1000 or 2000 meters? Apply your high intensity interval training (HIIT) based on your desired result.

#4 Mistake

Your commitment level isn’t what it needs to be! You have to have the right mindset to make a serious change in your life, right? On a scale of 1-10, 1 being nocommitment mistakes commitment and 10 being the most committed you sway only in the middle. That’s not going to get it done and serve you in the long run. You’ve got to go all in and dedicate yourself to achieving productive results. What’s stopping you from being at a committed 10 right now? Are they excuses or do you have priorities that are pulling you in another direction? Commitment levels of 10 get “serious results” in the shortest amount of time. You must apply a “growth mindset” to progress. What Can A Health and Fitness Professional Do For Me?

#5 Mistake

coach or mentor mistakesYou don’t have a coach or mentor! Every one of us needs help to make faster advancements in life. If you try to go it alone it will take longer. That’s just the way it is. An effective coach and mentor will significantly shorten the learning curve and help provide you what you want. Coaching and mentoring is a learned skill. It is vital you find a person who will listen and work with your desired outcome. It’s not only about the accountability when you work with the right mentor or coach. Your discovery and growth is a huge part of working with the right professional. As far as the cost is concerned, the more skin you have in the game the harder you usually work. The less capital you invest the poorer your result.

I have personally witnessed these 5 top lifestyle mistakes repeatedly in the last 15 years. Having clarity and focus is key to achieving any result, but most people want instant gratification and results immediately. It’s tough to get over night results if you don’t have some foundation underneath you. Remember your core basics? No one wants to address the basics anymore because they are too caught up in getting a result right this minute.

If you backtrack a bit, keep it simple, look at the big picture, and implement steps and strategies one by one you will achieve fantastic results with your fitness as well as a very productive growth-minded life. Keep you eye on your prize and don’t let anyone distract you, but don’t forget to appreciate your amazing journey each and every day. Asking for help is a sign of strength.
