This is a very simple question, but it takes a long time for people to come to an answer.
Now, this isn’t just related to a monetary value either and isn’t just related to gym-specific results. As you can achieve a lot from nothing without a gym and without spending a penny.
Here are some examples of what you can do to start improving your health:
- Walk more. Start with a small goal and work your way up. E.g. 4,000 steps a day
- Drink more water. A conscious effort to consume water.
- Sleep. Try to get into a routine of sleeping well. Between 6-8 hours on average.
- Eat more fruit and vegetables.
- Reduce your sugar intake. Replace them with sugar-free alternatives.
Starting small and building up is crucial to achieving your goals. If you start out too big and ambitious it is going to set you up to fail! So take some of these smaller steps and achieve something every day. After a while, these small tasks will become a habit and then you don’t think about them anymore, they just happen!
On to more ambitious steps, here’s how we start:
- Sign up to a gym and step through the door. That’s it!
- Find a coach or buddy who has experience. Use them to help you feel comfortable!
- Once you’ve stepped into the gym a few times, try out some of the machines and weights. Don’t worry about what you look like using them! Nobody in there is judging you!
- Feeling a bit more confident, use a program subscribed by a coach that is aimed at any goals you have.
- Go to the gym when you feel tired, down, hungry or angry. The gym is a great release for all these and will most definitely improve your mood and energy! This creates more habits!
After achieving some of these, it is easier to define what your health is worth to you. If you build some of these habits it’s easy to prioritize your health over other things. If you physically invest money in some form of coaching or programming, you end up being held accountable by the coach or the program. This, once again, builds up habits that help you achieve your goals!
