YOU! Wouldn’t that be pretty sweet, huh? Well, I don’t know if you are ever going to win an Oscar award like some of the actors and actresses, but what about the “ordinary” people who got on TV last night?
The Academy award goes to…
Did you see that part? Everyday people like you and I were ushered into the auditorium last night right smack in the middle of the Oscar show. They got to meet Jimmy Kimmel and some of the celebrities in the front row like Nicole Kidman, Denzel Washington, Meryl Streep, etc.
Pretty cool, huh? I’m not sure if it was staged or not but it certainly looked like these people were not expecting it. I wonder had they been “warned” about their 15 minutes of fame and being on TV? Would they have done anything to prepare for it? Were they happy with how they looked? Do they wish they had lost some weight prior to their being seen in front of millions of people
on TV? I’m not saying that any of them needed to lose weight.
We never know when it might be ‘our time’ in the spotlight
When we might get our chance to be seen in front of hundreds, thousands or even millions of people. When it is our time, will we be happy with how we present ourselves. Trust me, I know there is more to us than just our physical appearances.
There are plenty of people who are in great shape, but they are not nice people. I feel that how we treat ourselves and our bodies says a little something about the people we are inside.
Treating others with respect, treating others fairly, having good manners, etc are all things we should strive to do day in and day out. But taking care of yourself and being healthy should be
right up there with those just mentioned.
So, if you woke up tomorrow and were told that you were going to be on TV and seen by millions, would you be happy with your physical appearance? Or would you have liked a little ‘warning’ to give yourself a chance to ‘prepare’ and look your best?
Well, here’s your warning. Because I have news for you…
Show them that you take pride in yourself, that you are strong inside AND out, and you deserve that award!
