LifestyleWellness How To Craft A Wellness Routine

Wellness routine

Wellness is deeply personal.

There’s no one-size-fits-all wellness routine that guarantees success, especially for busy women juggling careers, families, and personal commitments.

We also can’t “hack” our way to better health.

The key to sustainable wellness isn’t forcing yourself into a rigid plan or trying a bunch of random and tokenistic tools—it’s about designing a routine that aligns with who you are, what you enjoy, and what will keep you moving forward even on tough days.

Here’s how to craft a wellness routine that genuinely reflects you and supports your long-term well-being:

1. Who Am I, Really?

Before you dive into any wellness routine, take a moment to reflect on your identity. What brings you joy? What makes you feel most alive? Are you someone who thrives on structure, or do you prefer flexibility? Identifying your values and priorities will help you create a routine that fits seamlessly into your life rather than feeling like another task on your to-do list.

We dive deep into this in the initial coaching session with me to help me design a package that reflects who you are and what you want.

2. What’s My Why?

Sustainable wellness isn’t just about looking good or hitting arbitrary milestones (although these can be great bonus outcomes)! It’s about feeling good—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

What’s your deeper motivation? Maybe you want more energy to keep up with your kids, to feel stronger in your body, or to cultivate more peace and balance in your daily life. Defining your “why” will keep you grounded and committed, even when motivation dips.

I THRIVE of helping people find or refine their why – and I’ve been guiding people in this way for years through my various roles. I’d love to help you!

3. What Do I Like?

Enjoyment is a crucial factor in building a sustainable routine. Ask yourself:

I love being outdoors?

Do I thrive in community-based movement, like group yoga or fitness classes?

Do I prefer quick, efficient home workouts that fit into my busy schedule?

When you centre your wellness routine around activities you genuinely enjoy, it becomes something to look forward to rather than a chore.

4. What Do I Not Like?

Equally important is knowing what doesn’t work for you. Maybe running feels like punishment. Perhaps team sports stress you out (omg they’re my WORST nightmare LOL).

So if you force yourself into activities that drain you, you’re less likely to stay consistent. Give yourself permission to skip the things that don’t bring you joy and instead focus on movement, meals, and mindfulness practices that feel good for you.

5. What Will Keep Me Going on Hard Days?

Let’s be honest—some days will feel harder than others. What will keep you moving forward when motivation is low? A few ideas:

Having a simple, go-to routine that requires minimal effort (a 10-minute yoga flow, a short walk, deep breathing exercises)

Reminding yourself of your “why”

Practicing self-compassion and recognising that small steps still count

6. What Are Some Super Small, Compassionate Acts I Can Do to Move the Needle Forward?

So progress doesn’t have to be drastic to be meaningful. However, some days simply rolling out your mat, stretching for five minutes, or choosing a nourishing meal over fast food is enough. Small, intentional acts compound over time and create lasting change.

7. Do I Need Some Accountability?

Many of us thrive when we have support. Do you have a friend, partner, or community that can help keep you accountable? Someone who will check in on you, celebrate your wins, and remind you of your progress when you’re feeling stuck?

Sure! Here’s a polished final statement to wrap up your blog:

Follow these steps to create a wellness routine that feels natural, joyful, and uniquely yours—one that supports your health not just for a season, but for life.
