How do we get rid of our bad habits?
Did you know that who you are depends largely on your routines and behaviors that you carry out with little to no thought whatsoever? Most of the time your sub-conscious is making all the decisions.
Why am I telling you this?
Your brain quickly transforms as many tasks and behaviours as possible into habits so that you can do them without thinking.
So what I am getting at is this; The more you make a routine stick the better your outcome will be to a HEALTHIER YOU!
When you first engage in a new task, your brain is working over time, but as soon as you understand how a task works, then your behavior starts becoming automatic and the mental activity required to do the task decreases DRAMATICALLY!.

How do we get rid of our bad habits?
If you want to get rid of a bad habit, you have to find out how to implement a healthier routine with the same reward.
Let’s say you and your friend reward yourself at the end of a hard day by catching up and relaxing with drinks. So both socializing and relaxing are necessary to living a happy life… there’s no doubt about that right!. And If you remove drinking from your life, and replace it with nothing else, you’ll likely become unhappy.
The trick is to keep the routine…
An alternative routine could be to get your friend to start exercising (in a way that is fun for both of you). So at the time you would normally start drinking you would switch this out for some form of physical activity. Then you have a healthy routine (exercise) that replaces the negative routine (drinking) while your receiving the same rewards (social time, relaxation).
My advice is to surround yourself with people that will encourage you to live a happy and healthy life. This is going to make your transition to a healthier lifestyle allot easier.
