There is no handbook or rule book when it comes to life. There are a lot of books with people’s opinions on how to live life, but no one really has all the answers. If we all followed a handbook on how to do everything this world would be boring. People have different ways of being for a reason. We all have a specific purpose, personality, and a distinct outward appearance.
The old adage, you can’t judge a book by its cover, comes to mind.
You cannot look at someone and see who they are. Who a person is goes deeper than their outer appearance. Some people can appear to have life all figured out. They are successful, or have their hair fixed just so, or makeup done well all the time, and they exude confidence. But how real is that appearance? Is it a cover up for the truth, or are they really just that put together?
There is not one human on this earth who knows exactly what they’re doing with their life. They could have a plan and think they know, but things don’t always turn out like we plan, do they?
Everyone has an insecurity, a weak spot, a squeaky board, loose screw, whatever you want to call it. That is called being human. They can portray whatever they want to on social media, but behind closed doors it doesn’t go away. You see what people allow you to see in their life. Whether it’s in person or posted all over their social media, people tend to hide their flaws.
Stop comparing apples to oranges.
You don’t need to compare yourself to other people. Focus your time and energy on being better than who you were yesterday. They are not you and you are not them. Therefore, comparing yourself to others is a waste of time. It will get you nowhere in life.
So, the next time you walk into a room, you can be confident that you are not the only one who has no clue what they are doing.
