I’m 31, I’m from Cardiff
my fitness journey started at the age of 14 I believe , I’d never been into sports (I had terrible band eye coordination and was too Ditsy to learn the rules of the sports)
my mum took me to aerobics , step aerobics and other classes at our local leisure centres and that’s where I fell In love with fitness
i also was obsessed with having a perky bum and washboard abs although I was slim anyway
I would skip in my garden most nights and perform cardio, abs and every lower body exercise you could imagine
around 7 years ago , I saw the ‘she squats last craze and was fascinated with the likes of Michelle Lewin, and Paige Hathaway
I noticed they didn’t really do any cardio but instead lifted weights and had a high protein diet
my sister began prepping for a show after being persuaded by a new male friend who became her trainer and coach, I also decided to compete
and in 2014 I stepped on stage for my first competition in bikini bodybuilding at the welsh UKbff show. it was such hard work but great fun , 2 years later I did again and this time placed second to my disbelief
a few years on I decided I wanted to turn my hobbie into a side income and trained to be an instructor and shortly after a Pt
I always loved group exercise so was chuffed to beans when I managed to gain my les mills body combat qualification during lockdown
I continue to try to build my physique , with 5 days training per week
I know how intimidating it is as a woman beginning in the gym and starting their lifting journey and my goal is to help other women build their knowledge and confidence In lifting and also put an end to this orthorexic shame culture where we feel we need to cut out all the fun , calorie dense foods and eat like a perfect human
I help people , predominantly women lose weight without feeling miserable and confused
