I was born and raised about 1 mile north of Boston in Everett, MA and attended St. John’s Prep High School in Danvers, MA. I played hockey for 4 years, voted captain as a junior and senior and twice selected all-star. After high school I spent 2 years in Vail, CO playing Jr. A hockey for the Vail Avalanche, also voted captain for my second season.
I graduated college from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT with a BS in Management, and was only 1 of 2 players in my class to complete all 4 years of Division I college hockey, earning the Senior Award. I became certified by the American Council on Exercise shortly after in May of 2002. I began my training career working at World’s Gym in Tewksbury and Bally Total Fitness in Medford, MA. Then I moved the focus of my training to be more sport specific, doing pre and post season training camps for Lesley University Softball (2003), St. John’s Prep HS Hockey (2003, 2004), Pope John HS Football (2004-2006), North Shore Hurricanes Hockey (2004, 2005), Walpole Express Jr, A Hockey (2006-2007), Walpole HS and Youth Lacrosse (2006, 2007). It was then that I moved to National Fitness, a sports specific training facility in Walpole and became head of sports conditioning. After 7 months of working in this one dimensional sport environment, I made the move to Fitness Together were I could get the benefit of training clients in a one on one private setting and make a difference in peoples lives both physically and mentally. I purchased the studio in January 2011 and ran it successfully posting top 10 out of 300+ FT Studios in the country for consistency and client retention. I sold the studio in Newton in March 2017 to open a new venture, not a franchise, more local in West Bridgewater. I wanted to bring my services to my own community where my family and friends live, and closer to be more available for my wife and kids. I opened Studio One in August 2017 and have already amassed a client base of 80 people, which we now consider family! Studio One is a ‘studio’ not a gym. We have clients not necessarily members, and provide private and semi private personal training but I have added a group fitness element like no other studio or gym. Actually 1 of 5 places in the country to have ‘Flexline Fitness Dynamic Air” training for our groups.
My philosophy today has morphed into something as simple as life and fitness in MODERATION. I have taken on a lifestyle coaching approach on how to incorporate a healthy nutrition with advanced training programming, while still enjoying life, family, and friends! To do this we use our 6 Week Healthy Fit Challenge to create a big result and then modify a continuation plan that best suits each individual.
